Nanofibers Designed To Stop Brain Tumor Cells From Spreading

Our body heals its injuries by replacing damaged cells with new cells. The new cells will migrate to the site of injury, known as “cell migration” but abnormal cell migration can also enable cancer cells to spread within the body. A highly invasive brain tumour called Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is one example which spreads through migration of the tumor cells. Conventional methods are ineffective - but now there’s a new way thanks to nanofibers.
